Established in 2011, Dawg Star was originally founded to provide medical patients with safe access to high-quality flower. With the passing of I502, Dawg Star became the first licensed and permitted cannabis grow in Seattle. The ancient Egyptians have a story about cannabis being given to them by their gods, who came from the brightest star in the sky, the Dog Star. Now known to be two stars, Sirius A and B, this legend explains how cannabis got its name and why we named our brand Dawg Star. Canna means “dog,” and bis means “two,” named after the two dog stars.
